Aakash 2 tablet to be made in India by ITI

Aakash 2 tablet which was initially manufactured by the UK based company DataWind will now be made in India. After the announcement by DataWind that, the company will not be able to supply the Aakash 2 tablet to the Indian govt without increasing its price, Kapil sibbal had decided to switch over to any Indian public sector enterprises.
In the race ITI (Indian Telephone Industries) has given the lowest bid and has promised to supply the 1 million Aakash 2 tablet to the govt of India.
Indian govt need now 220 million tablets as per the promise made to the people of India, that by 2014 each varsity going student will have a tablet.
Aakash tab was a huge success in India and adding to it, Aakash 2 will be made available to all the college goers.
